Bobbie was born and raised in the small town of Conway, SC. Her dad was a professional singer and musician by the age of nine, and Bobbie followed suit, getting her first used violin when she was five and singing in churches for most of her childhood. She studied music in college, and in 1999 she met her future husband and collaborator Aaron Holt. They played music and wrote songs together during their college years, married in 2003, quit school and moved to Nashville. After two years of playing cafes and bars, writing sad songs, and working for nothing, they decided they needed familiar faces and salt water, packed it up and moved back home. In 2009 Bobbie entered the most important chapter of her life and became a mother. She spent the next 3 years raising her daughter and painting, showing her art in select local galleries. In 2012, Bobbie and Aaron decided, with much prodding by their friend and producer Frosty Horton, that the songs they had written over the last 12 years needed a home. That summer, Bobbie recorded her first album, Move On, at House of David studio in Nashville. With the help of an amazing group of musicians, the album moves fluidly from one genre to the next, with Bobbie’s soulful voice holding it all together. The songs are about life – love and loss, good and evil, moving away and longing for home.
